I think I'll going to see if there is any part time internship available for high school students, it will be the coolest job ever if I could work there, even though it's a long drive from my house to the arena.

    Anyone else is going?

On your future resume, when you are done with your "internship" you could list it like this.

2003-2004: Intern - Toyota Center - Houston Texas
Areas of study: Vomit mopping, handicapped patron wheelchair pushing, toilet plunging, seat cleaning

It will definitely make the future employers take notice.

argh! bad memories. my first job was at astroworld. of course i thought that i'd have one of the cool jobs like operating one of the rides or working one of the booths where you shoot the basketball for a prize.

of course i landed the position of janitor... cleaning restrooms and sweeping up cigrette butts outside.

i'll save you all the gross stories, but i will say that ratemypoo.com is nothing compared to the "crap" that people do in the restrooms there.

up to that time in my life, i don't think that i had ever said "holy schit"... "i can't believe this schit"... or "look at this schit" without it making perfect sense.

edit: ooops... i'm derailing the thread. sorry.

That sucks. I'd have quit. Astroworld restrooms are the worst I've ever seen. I feel bad for people not wearing shoes. Can't imagine what it's like to clean that up.

For your sake, so do I, but if you want an internship that will mean something for your future, I doubt that Toyota Center is the place for you.

Well, I'm interested in knowing if anyone has pursued a summer-type internship with the Rockets?

Like maybe a college experience thing? I'd be very interested. I'd assume it would be like sales or something like that at best, but hey, I'm willing.

I applied for a summer internship with the Dallas Mavericks many, many years ago in the media relations department. I didn't get it, but they had a program and did hire someone.

Actually, chances are I will end up e-mailing someone like Mr. McDougall (Tim) or Mr. Nelson Luis (who was very helpful and very courteous when I met him at a game).

    UPDATE!

I found this site, don't know how reliable, but it's good for reference.

I had seen this before, but never pursued anything.

    http://nbateamjobs.teamworkonline.com/teamwork/jobs/default.cfm

You might have more of a chance getting to do what you want to do with an NBDL team in a city such as, say, Asheville, NC.

Those internships could be something though...

EDIT: Hmmm, this one sounds very tempting....

I wonder if a guy like Jeff could get this job. How much work experience do you think they would need?

I went to that site many times, but since I'm only a high school student, can't go for a internship anywhere outside of houston.

And the Grizzlies's web developer job seems like a entry level job from the skills they required.
