The Rockets put up some more videos on Rockets.com, a lot of behind the scenes stuff. Its in the bottom right cornder.

I watched the "Cat at Home" and when Coop asked about the fans, he says the exact opposite than what he said on 610. Kinda funny, he literally says the exact opposite.

I find it sad that people can learn to speak english in other countries, but Texas have to teach in two different languages for people that can't speak english .

I find it's sad that the US does not have as many bilingual speakers as many other countries. Even sadder that some here will visit other countries and getted miffed that they can not communicate in a foreign country because EVERYONE does not speak english.

Thats true but it is the universal language thats why in other countries children must take english classes when they are in grade school but children in the U.S. dont becuase thier primary languages is the universal one.

Yeah, haven't you heard? USA #1?

Everytime one of our fellow countrymen head to foreign lands for business or vacation, we are like gods to them.

For our language conquers the world, we have no need to learn other languages. Pshaw.. :p

we don't need as many bilingual speakers because we aren't around a bunch of languages.

i speak some spanish and know some french. i'm sure you'll find more people down in the south that speak some spanish and english since it is functional.

If someone went on frequent trips to a country like Italy, they could probably pick up the language but whats the point if you go to a foreign country like once every 5 years? Like robbie380 said the US isn't surrounded by many languages. A couple of people I know who have spent time around Hispanics picked up Spanish rather quickly.

On the flip side, you don't even need to learn English to function in this country. There are hundreds of thousands and maybe even millions of people that live in the United States and have only a cursory knowledge of the language. So I don't see the big deal if English speakers don't decide to learn another language.

This thread reminds me of a joke my friend told me a while ago.

An officer in the U.S. Naval reserve was attending a conference that
included admirals from both the U.S. Navy and the French Navy. At
a cocktail reception, he found himself in a small group that included personnel from both navies.

The French admiral started complaining that whereas Europeans learned many languages, Americans learned only English. He then asked: "Why is it that we have to speak English in these conferences rather than you speak French?

Without hesitating, the American Admiral replied: "Maybe it's because
the Brits, Canadians, Aussies and Americans arranged it so you would
    not have to speak German."

    The group became silent.
