I can also be as inpatient as the next guy (it comes with the territory when you are a die-hard Rockets fan, lol), but what we have learned from Morey all these years is that he has the patience of a buddies monk. Now that moratorium is over, we should soon see guys signing to brand new contracts.
Look at the bright side. KJ and Smith can't take much longer to sign somewhere. So we will move on at least from this waiting nerve breaking period.
I wonder if Portland will come after KJ after OKC matches Kanter? Who are the other unsigned RFAs? There must be a list somewhere?
Whatever happened to 'In Morey we Trust'? Will you people EVER learn? Have some faith, crack a beer, and CHILL THE EFF OUT.
Don't get all the worry over KJ. Some people seem to think he is some kind of saviour or something. He's only a kid who hasn't proven a thing!
well.. the thunder have until sunday to match. So I guess if NOTHING has come up with KJ till then they could go after him but I doubt it.. The remaining rfa I think are norris cole Austin Rivers Tristan Thompson and that's it. Maybe some other scrub.
I have complete trust and believe that Morey is quite self aware about the roster issues. He isn't going to make a move just to make a move though, it has to be the right situation (contract, age, fit, etc.).
He has time and that is positive but we don't have too many years to wait... so I'll wait and see what happens. I can't say he's done bad overall I feel he's been a good asset to the front office. I just hate we have no real point right now.
If this is Daryl's actual target with Jones and the non g'tds then he played this perfectly. There is no team for Denver to leverage Houston against, neither Philadelphia or Utah are going to try and hasten their development process.
This is true, but not in the way you think. Remember last year. When everybody was freaking out about letting Parsons walk? The easy decision there was to hold on to Chandler to appease the fans. The genius of Morey is that he will never freak out and pull the trigger just to pull the trigger. If Morey hasn't made a trade, there is no good deal to be made. Morey is going to play chicken with the rest of the league as he has always done, and history indicates they will always flinch first. Never make a deal out of desperation. Like a man with a really bad face lift once said about holding, folding, walking and running - <iframe width="420" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/Jj4nJ1YEAp4" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> Morey will eventually bluff some other GM out of his life savings with a pair of 6's when he gets as freaked out and desperate as many of the posters here.
