By this I mean either University, a project at work, or in high school....

I am currently working on an essay that's due next week and I can honestly say that I have been sitting here, on this very same chair, since thursday night. I have literally only come off to eat or use the bathroom. That makes 52 hours of work, take away a few hours for eating, drinking, random 10-15 minute breaks. I did fall asleep at my desk for 30 minutes once. Anyway, I'm still thinking this is quite impressive. ;) Can anyone beat? Or do you have similar stories? Am seriously getting sick of this and plan to give in soon, unless someone can give me something to aim for!! I'm not sure what inspired this, I have never done anything like this before, and the essay is not even due till later in the week. I think I must be going mental!

    Let's see...about 10 minutes for me. :D

I never started a project in school until about midnight the night before it was due. Sad but true.

I wrote my thesis in one week, all research, everything, 32 pages long on Political philosophy. I think that should win.

Did you actually go to bed, though? That's what I mean... I haven't actually gone to bed since wednesday night (started essay thursday night). I've had that one little nap, and that's it. If you stayed up for a week, I'm impressed!!!

I took a compiler class a couple of semesters ago, where we had to write a pretty extensive and comprehensive compiler from scratch. (a compiler is a computer program that turns written code, like Java/c++/etc, into machine code, essentially language a computer can understand) I was talking about it with my friend the other day, and we estimated that the project took at least 400 hours to complete.

Pretty hefty considering it was all for one 3 credit hour class.

Last year I managed to squeeze out half a semester worth of drawings in a twenty hour stretch. Not as intense as usual academic work, but it got old fast. I really should start going to class more.

Ouch. 20 hours drawing half a semester's work? Not even a lifetime could help me achieve this - I am the worst artist the world has ever known. I cannot draw to save my life. I think it ranks as one of my most terrible skills.

I used to work as a local stagehand for the major concerts that came around. There was one show in paticular that was a real booger.

Genesis came thru on a stadium tour in 1992, and since they were starting the tour in Texas..they decided to finalize the stage design and construction methods at the old blimp base off of 45..

We worked for 2 weeks with their designers and road crew building the inside and outside stages and finding the most effective ways of running all the cabling and lights.

Then 2 days before the show at the Astrodome, we started the load-in..we worked about 12 hours a day building the stage and setting everything up..
Day of the show, we worked from 7am to showtime finishing the stage..took off the 3 hours during the show and wandered around the dome with our all-access passes. Then immediately after the show, we started tearing down the stage.

I didnt leave the dome till 30 hours later. Even after that long, they were still 2-3 hours away from being finished..

So basically...I was awake from 7am on May 9th till the early morning hours(3-4am) on May11th. I dont even remember the drive home I was so exausted.

What a hell of a paycheck for that week tho...:)
