This is such bull****. They won't give it to Harden when he's carrying the team, then watch next season. If we're the best record in the league with Dwight playing at his current level, they won't give it to Harden because he had help.

This is such a media driven award. ****. At least you could have made the argument that DRob put up better numbers in the regular season when he won it over Hakeem. There is no statistical argument for Curry.

JJ Watt doesn't win NFL MVP because it's not a popularity contest. James Harden doesn't win NBA MVP because it is a popularity contest. Go figure.

They were close enough so either could win in it. None of them had a 30 per.

Haha that's funny. He definitely should thank all his talented teammates and new coach for the regular season MVP award.

Harden probably doesn't care all that much that he didn't get the award. I think Curry wanted the MVP trophy more than Harden did anyway. Would Curry be the players-choice MVP winner? Doubtful.

Does this really matter? No. James deserved it for getting his team to the #2 seed by showing how valuable he is even though we had key pieces miss lots of time. Even BEFORE the season started all the media that vote MVP for Curry had Houston barely making the playoffs or not at all.

But we made it because of Harden - the true MVP.

And the worst part is Rockets probably wouldn't be able to beat the Warriors unless we had Beverly back. That's what's annoying the most.

I can definitely see a scenario of Harden outplaying Curry, but they have too much firepower.

If Dwight comes back next year and we get 82 games of a full Rockets squad and win over 62 games (realistic, we won 56 with a butchered team) does that make Harden more deserving of MVP or less?

It's the criteria that puzzles me.

I think Curry 1st Harden very close 2nd is fair. Curry was really amazing all season long on the best team by far. Harden had stretches of really poor shooting, like 15 games in a row under 50% shooting, I think that's one of the reasons objective voters picked Curry over Harden.

It is much easier to play better on offense when you aren't playing as many minutes while having a much much more talented offensive team.

Like a good defensive team makes an individual defender better, same goes for offense.
