    It didn't against Rodney King. Reid was reportedly non-compliant with a potential to arm and the officer already pulled his gun out, so hypothetically his "sub-human" listening and de-escalation skills got him shot.

    I haven't had time to verify but television said:

    1. The vehicle was stolen
    2. The young man had a gun
    3. The officer had arrested him before
    4. The young man spent 13 years in jail for shooting at 3 officers

    If this is true, and coupled with minutes of the officer telling him to stop, I don't see why there is any controversy at all.

    I was very impressed with the cop that happened to be black. Very aware and quick thinking plus he kept calm after the ordeal. He is a great example that other cops should follow.

    Because there was a camera which clearly showed that the man who followed directions walked away from the incident while the one who didn't, didn't.
