    My point was, could it be a wink wink deal, so when DeShields gets sent back to the minors, and the Rangers have to offer him back, the Astros work out a cash settlement so Rangers can keep him.

    If the Rangers have to offer him back, the Astros will either pay the $25K, or the Rangers will be sending more player(s) to the Astros to keep him.
