What was his 2 point and 3 point shooting percentage like with Dallas this past season? His defense looks pretty good to me.
I know a little about salery cap stuff but I'm no expert. Can our TPE be used to sign someone without dipping into our cap space? Or is only a trade piece?
What about Chris Douglas-Roberts? Last season he was 38.6% from 3, big swingman (6'7) who can get to the hoop and finish, able to provide some sort of scoring punch off the bench, and doesn't turn the ball over. At most, for the BAE. But we should able to get him at vet minimum? From my point of view, we don't have a backup at the G/F spot, and could definitely use a 'bench scorer'? A guy who finishes well at the rim, and shoots 38% from deep... perfect fit!
I've always felt CDR was an NBA player on the offensive side of the court. Don't know about his D though.
As a bench player, he stepped up he defense last year in Charlotte. However, their coach and system is very defensive-minded. He he can maintain that, he could be a steal.
I'm liking the idea of CDR, but isn't Gee a better player? Gee is known for defense and hustle and would be more athletic than CDR who has been around a few years now, but CDR is clearly the better shooter if playing along side Dwight.
Is a S&T with Monroe out of the question? Wouldn't he be good enough defensively to contain the WC all star power forwards?
Gee can't shoot. I don't think we need a 'plug', I think we need someone who can come on and score some points. We're a little unproven in that area at the moment - probably relying on Canaan, who (let's be fair) may not be able to do it. CDR isn't a great defender, but he wasn't the worst last season either.
He's a horrible defender who is more of a slow footed center. There's a reason why, despite being a lock for 15-10 and having a legit big man post game, he hasn't been offered a contract yet.
