50/50? You serious? To me that's a blatant penalty. Can other parties chime in, as I'm obviously a little biased here?
No way he barely clips his back leg which Robbin was leaving behind to draw the foul. It is cagey, but a terrible way to win, IMO. DD
To me... The one in the first half was a clear penalty. The one in the closing seconds was a 50/50 at best for Holland. More like 75/25 in favor of Mexico because Robben had been flopping the entire second half.
Guys, I'm talking about the first half penalty that DD is saying is 50/50. To me, the first-half call was a clear penalty.
Sucks for Mexico. Too bad they went into defensive mode with a lot of time on the clock. They almost pulled it off but defending a solitary goal against a talented offensive side like Netherlands that attacked relentlessly and forced ~10 corners is a tough ask. And to lose on an iffy penalty in injury time, damn, that is heartbreaking. As for Netherlands, they are a wonderful side to watch on offense but their defense needs work. Somehow their goalkeeper doesn't inspire much confidence in me.
Contact can also initated by Robben. He was doing exactly this a few times over.. trying to fall over bodies ....initiating contact while the Mexican player was on the ground

I guess we can all agree that Robben baited him into a stupid foul. He should have just let robben go, better to lose on a legitimate goal than a penalty that you've been baited into.
for me Ochoa should be goalkeeper of the tournament. in 4 games, he saved 6 or 7 clear goals, the sneijder goal, no one could've save that, and a penalty is a 80/20 in favor of the shooter
Feel bad for Marquez as he had played well this tournament. But I think his old legs were tempted to make a few late tackles. Sucks as I always like the story of an old dog coming in and doing well. How is the Mexican media seeing it? Corrupt referee or mistake by Rafa?
well, a tradition: Mexico going to round of 16 Its better to always advance than be out in the group stages.
I will probably let this one slide. I just dislike players doing that when Overtime would have been fair.....but whatever... congrats to the Flying Dutchmen... they deserved the game as well I was also furious when De Jong kicked the hell out of Xabi Alonso in 2010. Let's see if Holland can win the Cup. I am still rallying for American teams
he is talking about the first time, and that was a penalty, the one that the refs called was a dive, so I like I said it evens out.
