If not the Kings, who, based on needs and gut feeling and talking to people in the league, who is the front-runner?

It seems like it's up to Kevin. And that's what the Kings are doing that's different than anybody else. They're willing to take a chance. I don't know that anyone else is willing to. You know the Lakers aren't after what happened with Dwight Howard. Golden State is not. Chicago is not. New York is not. I think he'd be open minded going to all those places with an extension but what do they have to offer? If Thompson is not part of it, why would Minnesota do it? You want something? You have to give up something. Lakers, what do they have to give up? Chicago, Noah or Rose? No. Boston? Rondo? Okay, but then there's not a great PG for me to play with. Knicks? What are you gonna trade? If you look at it, the lack of what everyone has to offer, give me McLemore, the 8th pick, throw in Jason Thompson and I'm just being novice GM here, at least I get young talent. Then I want a first next year too. Maybe you get all that. That's how you rebuild that way. I'm saying if you look at it, if I'm the Wolves, maybe the Kings have the best offer.

Novice GM, indeed. McLemore is terrible. Thompson is a bad contract. And the Kings already owe their pick to Chicago next year.

So it's the 8th pick and probably net negative value.

Also, New York would definitely trade the nothing that they have for Love with no extension or assurance to resign.

The bidding is gonna get hot. The Kings are only the first team not to be afraid of losing Love. BOS can offer the 7th pick and more to pair Love with Rondo.

People who think that HOU has a shot a getting Love while lowballing are insane. The price will be at least Parsons, Jones, Asik and picks. Maybe there needs to be third team facilitators, too.

Eventually, it may take Harden to get Love. And that's OK with me.

This has been my point all along. It's up to Love. We haven't heard from him for sure what teams he's willing to entertain. But it's really going to come down to where Love wants to go.

The Rockets aren't trading Harden. They just aren't.

If the price for Love is Parsons, Jones, Asik, and picks, then I think they should definitely do that. I think the Wolves could probably get a better offer than that, but not by much.

Surely that last tweet is a joke.

I don't know, accordding to longstanding tradition of lots of posters around here, coaches can magically develop players in the NBA, particularly point guards.

So I wouldn't put it past Del Negro to instruct Rubio on how to actually score a basket, due to the magical triforce he gave to Paul.

So Flip Saunders believes that Ricky Rubio belongs in the same sentence as Derrick Rose and Chris Paul?? That's.....special.

Such a troll. How long did it take you to get over the PPat trade? Maybe 6 months? Time can't go by fast enough.

Even worse, he's suggesting that Del Negro had a significant impact on developing Derrick Rose and Chris Paul into superstars...

If they want to develop Rubio, why haven't we heard Mike Dantoni's name?

From Adelman to Joerger to Vinny Del Negro...

I feel bad for the wolves fans

I think Boston has enough. 7th pick, one of the Nets picks or two, Sullinger, and another young guy like Faverani. More than anyone else can offer.

I hope somebody overpays for that perennial loser. It'll just make the Knicks/Cavs desperate and easier to coerce into a S+T/T for Melo/Kyrie

If there's anymore than two suitors - it will blow up. And I have the feeling the Celtics will gladly offer a package like I just described. Love may not have actually won anything, but he's a very good second option (I'd put him in the same category as Bosh in Toronto). Plus, I don't think it hurts that Love is white.
