OK...I was talking with a co-worker today about this thing and we came to the conclusion that it had to be the most over-hyped invention in history. I haven't seen anyone locally on one of these things and can't see the revolutionary changes that were promised happening anytime soon. Maybe I'd change my mind if I had the opportunity to ride/drive one, but I doubt I'll ever get a chance. What a farce... With all of the hype leading up to the release of this invention, I was sure someone had devised a way to have floating personal travel devices. What a bust! Move over New Coke, you've got a new companion!
One of the big problems with the Segway (and any other mobile, battery powered device) is the battery. You want to get rich? Invent a battery that lasts a LONG time.
