So I recently had a case that was dismissed in meeting with the Prosecutor after video evidence showed me not being apart of a fight(charged with DOC, not arrested). I also recently received a job offer and in turn have to submit to a background check in which I have a question about.

The background question states "have you been convicted, plead guilty or received deferment for a crime?"

I wanted to check to make sure answering "no" would be appropriate or if I should contact my recruiter who works for the company to verify the correct course of action. I ask because I believe the charge will still appear, even as "dismissed," until I can get it expunged. I called the court and they said it wasn't even sent to the state, so I am just confused on what the best course of action is, thanks.

But you weren't convicted, didn't plead guilty, and didn't receive deferment for a crime, so you should be okay.

You are fine, you weren't even arrested so you wont even have an arrest record(assuming you haven't been before.)

Since the answer to each of the segments is no, a simple no will suffice.

Disorderly conduct isn't a crime. It's like a parking ticket in terms of misdemeanors.
