Report: Omer Asik will not be traded to the Pelicans or Bucks Yet while the New Orleans Pelicans (i.e. forward Ryan Anderson) and Milwaukee Bucks (i.e. forward Ersan Ilyasova) have also been tied to the Asik situation, two people with knowledge of both team’s dealings said they are no longer in the mix. The people spoke on the condition of anonymity because of the private nature of the talks. Things could change, of course, but it appears both teams have bowed out for now.
Cleveland Talk™ @_clevelandtalk 1h The Rockets offered the Cavs Omer Asik for Varejao but the Cavs were not interested.
Vindictive Pat @HeyHokie 1h “@JasonLloydABJ: #Cavs not interested in Omer Asik, per league source." Asik would be going from backing up Howard to Bynum. Makes no sense.
I want a three team trade with phili and team x so that morey and Hinkle can swindle and out smart the league
what's wrong with that? instead of us giving a 1st, let's give a 2nd rounder http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=jwrhn3r
Heard from a source that its Asik and Casspi + 2nd round pick to Philly Dont know whose coming back.....Hawes, Thaddeus???
We give up Casspi too we better be getting Turner back or a three team deal for someone better than what Philly can offer because we know that MCW isn't on the table. .
I think the not believable part is Morey offering Asik for Varejao straight up. Believable that Morey asked for a lot more and the Cavs weren't interested.
If the Rockets are giving up those exact pieces, then that would be kind of odd. The salaries won't match if it's Young+ one of Hawes/Turner. You'd have to add a Brewer or another salary for that to work. But you'd have to think Young is involved since he plays the exact same position as Casspi. Hawes+Turner would work though. But that wouldn't necessitate giving up Casspi. Asik's salary would work. And I'm sure both sides would prefer the Rockets give up pick(s), like the 2 NY picks we got from Camby last year, rather than a player.
