Hmmm. What makes a movie a cult movie?

As far as B movies, I'd have to go with Trolls 2.

I believe cult film is defined as financial and/or critical bomb that amasses a following in later years.

I think that eliminates whoever put Pulp Fiction.

But Big Lebowski believe it or not was not a financial hit (or bump) and kinda a critical dud when it came out. Same for Fight Club, Donnie Darko, Office Space, Boondocks Saints etc.

Clerks, Dazed and Confused and Bottle Rocket were indie hits to a degree. So they really don't fit the 'cult film' definition.

The Room is a great example of a cult film. Blade Runner too, but that's pretty much now acknowledged as a seminal masterpiece.

Apparently pretty much all of my favorite movies are "cult movies". The Big Lebowski and Office Space are my 2 all time favorites, and American Psycho and Clerks are somewhere in my top 20 too.

Hardware is a godamn under appreciated cult classic. Highly stylized 80s style B movie Sci-Fi gem. Also, one of my top 5 GOAT soundtracks. Public Image Ltd., Ministry, Iggy Pop, Moterhead... f-ck yeah!
