Derrick Williams may be traded today (Traded to Kings)

He's moved on to undersized centers.

Why would they want Williams when they have Patterson, Thompson and Hayes already?

 

Do not question Kings's decision making, who you to say the Kings can't field a team with 5 or 6 or 7 or 8 PFs?????

 

sacramento trading for him would seem...appropriate.

 

Looks like Morey's fetish for undersize PFs have spread to Kings as well.

 

They also have Landry getting rehabbed ready to go in a month or so.

 

Change of scenery or not, he needs to up his shooting percentages and become a consistent threat from long distance. Everybody knows he can score and still has upside.

Worth a look for Sacramento even despite their logjam of undersized 4's.

 

Apparently the Sac trade is a done deal pending a physical.

 

That's all they want? I'm sure we could offer DMo, GSmith, and fillers for DWill.

 

I think this trade serve as a warning that if your going for it and clearly shopping a guy your unlikely to get back perceived fair value, hence we really need to check our enthusiasm for a Asik trade.

Williams is awful. I've said it since he was in Arizona that he will be is a poor man's Channing Frye with a worse shot. No more tweeners in Houston, please.

 

Williams is an undersized PF who seems totally lazy and unmotivated, there are tons of guys like that in the NBA. Asik's a legit defensive center who's young and cheap.

And let's not forget that as a 2nd pick, Williams is making over 5M a year the next two years. Probably a reason why Minny is getting next to nothing for him.

 

We need basketballholic's opinion on this. He is the biggest proponent on D Williams.

That's underwhelming as it gets for Sacramento but Wolves could get a significant boost on Defense.

 

I keep confusing Derrick and Deron Williams, and wondering why anyone would want either.

 

Kings are not winning anything this year so they might as well take a look at a prospect like Williams if the price is reasonable. It's not like Mbah a Mute is really helping them even make the playoffs.

 

I hoped it would be for Hayes. It's sad watching him being stuck in that terrible organization.
