That's very interesting. I think a huge part is players get in rhythm when they shoot a bunch of FTs at a time. In a game situation, you are only shooting 1-3 FT's at a time. In practice, they probably shoot at least 10 in a row every time, if not more, so they can pad their percentages with rhythm shooting. The first one is always the hardest to make.

This is completely correct. Remember hack-Asik last year? Soon as he got into a rhythm he was good.

When you shoot 50-100 in a row your muscles just do the motion a lot more naturally then playing down low, banging away, then having to go to the foul line.
