Thanks for all the great info on Bourbons. I am now inspired to try others... good stuff!

Finishing out my liquor cabinet. Getting close to have most types of liquor. Then I'll work on getting more variety in each type.
Please take a look and give me some suggestions.

    Aromatic Bitters
    Triple Sec

You need more items for mixing.

I read a recipe that used Grand Marnier for the margarita so I didn't get triple sec. What other mainstream drinks use triple sec? And I think have the bitters somewhere.

You should try infusions. Just started a batch of Cherry infused Bourbon.

Never heard of infusions before but just read it up and sounds interesting. Do you use cheaper bourbons, like when you mix drinks?

I don't skimp on infusion liquor but I don't use high end stuff either.

I actually use Texas based liquors like Tito's and Dripping Springs. I used Bulleit Bourbon for this batch but I expirement a lot. Go to Anvil if you live here in Houston. Got inspired 2 years ago and have been making Bacon JalapeƱo Vodka ever since.

What would be good to mix with Jameson? I've had it with club soda and straight up. Is it best on the rocks? I wanna get a bottle of this for the weekend.

Don't have any suggestions, just want to say I like that setup. Totes jelly. I don't have a space like that so I just keep everything on top of the fridge.

Actually, I would recommend this tequila. Looks cool but not stupid, is actually made in Mexico, and is better than any similarly priced tequila.

Great set up Yonkers! Would love to be able to have a set up like that at my house. Maybe someday.

I am a big Gin and Tonic guy and usually prefer it served in a Collins glass or a Highball glass. I didn't see those in your set up. But if you were looking for ideas of other additions to your glassware there are those. ;)

I prefer my whiskey neat and sipped slowly. All a matter of personal preference though, a few rocks never hurt anything.

Didn't read every post in the thread but to add a non traditional piece I would go with a Texas bourbon/whiskey, great tasting, not extremely expensive and a good conversation piece.

    The most well known:

They are numerous. I know a Long Island Iced Tea calls for it (in some variations). Its been a while since I've made a lot of drinks, but I also think that either the Martini, or Manhattan calls for it. Is just handy to have around. I like mixing it with vodka based cocktails to add a bit of orange flavor.

My girlfriend recently had an espresso infused vodka. It was fantastic. She used it on a variation of the White Russian she called the Lumpy Martinez. You can find a thread on this somewhere in the Hangout.

    Bombay Sapphire
    Hennessy Black
    Grand Marnier

Give me a cabinet full of that and I'd be set.

No, that's perfect. I did want suggestions on glassware. I debated getting Collins glasses but my wife said our normal glasses were close enough so I didn't argue it at the time.
