If he was the key to getting another top 15 player, I would trade him.

Its Parson's contract that allows us to go after Dwight and possibly one more star this off-season.

That, and his excellent play makes Houston a possible contender with a couple more stars. It's very attractive for players to want to come here and play in a young exciting team that is contending.

I think he just fits perfectly for Houston for what we got going on right now.

If anything a top 15 player or high potential guy. (Love,Cousins,Aldridge,Drummond)

If we get Dwight, packaging Asik + Parsons for a Love makes some sense.

I think it depends on how much his next contract is going to be. I have no idea when he can/will negotiate but not allowing teams to offer crazy money should the priority.

Better question, how much is his market value and Rockets value?

Players I would consider swapping Parsons out for:

    Lebron/Durant (duh)
    Melo
    Paul George
    Batum
    Deng
    Gallinari

That's it. And I'm not even saying all those players are better than Parsons, although the top 4 certainly are. But Batum/Deng/Gallo are at least around the same level as him.

If we absolutely had to throw him in to get an All Star who is not over the hill, I would be ok with that. For example I would happily send Lin, Parsons and Robinson to the Clippers for Chris Paul.

On the other hand, I would not include him in a trade for Josh Smith.

The thing is he's the perfect type of contract to slap onto a bad contract to get rid of both of them. Unfortunately, we don't have any bad contracts.

Lmaoooo. Chandler is a great player but the homerism here is ridiculous. I would include him in a package to either upgrade our pg or pf spot. For example a Kevin love or lamarcus Aldridge type deal. There are only a handful of sfs that are marginally better than him so for his contract there is no point to trade him

That's what I thought too. And I read somewhere on these forums I think that said he could only get about 10 million a year or something because of the NBA pay scale?!!

    Does anyone know about this?

What? So second rounders can't get paid (although 10 mil/year is more than many here will make in their lifetime 3 times over)?

I remember Arenas getting a max and he wasn't even drafted. But that's under the old CBA.

I found it at Larry's blog (of course)...

    http://www.cbafaq.com/salarycap.htm#Q16

Looks like around $13 million max for Parsons in his 5th year in the NBA depending on salary cap.
