If you only really care about one Rox player (whoever it may be) then are you really a Rox fan?

    Well then you are a player based fan. I remember back then there are fans following Iverson around no matter whichever team he went to.

    Anyway, there's nothing wrong with that, but you can't call yourself a Rockets fan if you just follow certain player on the Rockets.

    True, but if you want the player to succeed mote than the team, that could create s conflict of interests that real rockets fans just don't have

    Across110thstreet, I know what you mean, and I do apologize. While I confess that I DO like the nickname (hey it's part of my user name!), I did at first type out ROCKETS, however later had to shorten it in the title of this thread simply because I ran out of characters!:grin:

    You have to care that the Rockets win. If you do not care that the Rockets win you are not a Rockets fan.

    You can be if your one-love fandom leads you to habitually follow the Rockets, which then in turn turns you into a diehard.

    Happened to me that way. But then again, I started as an impressionable fourth grade who just moved to Houston in 01.
