Jazz 3-4 vs Rockets and Lakers

Rockets will beat out both teams for 7th seed in a 3-way tie.

However if Lakers win out, Jazz drop out, and Rockets go 2-3, Lakers will tie with Rockets and beat out Rockets for 7th seed by better conference record.

Edit; Rockets do not have control of their destiny for #6 seed. GSW magic number for #6 seed is 5.

that looks good, kuku, but in your scenario the Lakers would be 3-4 in a three way tie along with the Jazz. would it then go down to Utah because of their tiebreaker over LA?

have you seen subparagraph c labeled "Guidelines for Applying Tiebreak Scenarios"?

can you make any sense of that?

I just want to make sure there is no chance the Lakers tiebreaker over Houston could trump Houston winning a three way tie.

I worry that since Houston will have played 8 games against each other and Utah and LA will only have played 7, some weird rule will go into play.

I don't believe it will go down to subparagraph. The tiebreaker rules:
MORE THAN TWO TEAMS TIED

1. If applicable, division champions must be determined first. <this does not apply here.

2. Better winning percentage in all games among the tied teams.

If a multiple team tie is reduced to a two-team tie at any point using the above criteria, the two-team tie will be resolved in accordance with the existing two-team tie procedure.

Then Jazz will beat out Lakers in TWO-WAY TIE rule:
