Are we going to ignore the fact that Asik made a 17 foot jumper last night?

He made it in the flow of the offense too, rather than beating a shot clock. And it looked smooth too. Can you imagine Asik with a jumper?

Sometimes his free throw shooting looks pretty good and sometimes he just seems to loose any touch he had. I think he he is having a good night shooting his free throws that he should give that shot a try.

Yeah I'm not going to lie, I was saying nooooooooo, yes! on that one. A baseline shot that didn't even touch the rim either. I'll take it for what it was worth (2 points), but if he developed a consistent mid-range J, he'd be worth probably double what we signed him for.

Well, except the commentators said that Asik has been working on his jump shot. If Asik can integrate it into his shooting arsenal, at 7 foot, he'll be hard as heck to stop.

Though honestly, I'd rather see him keep improving his FT shooting. I think it's always better when a player can go to the rim AND put a foul on the opposing team than just shoot a jump shot and risk a transition break.

Still, if he could do both.... mmmm....

I missed the game. Only the second game of the season that I missed. Hopefully someone puts up a clip.

IF he can develop a consistent shot, I would love to throw Greg Smith into the starting 5

IMHO, if a player can make more than 50% of his free throws and has decent form, he can improve his 15-ft jumper. Of course, FT shooting is different from a jump shot, that's why it still needs a lot of practice before it can be an offensive option. It's possible, though.

It's the same shot he doesn't have to jump he can just shoot it like his free throw.
