I don't see it as Super Bowl victory or bust, BUT, I think that not making it to the AFC title game would be very disappointing. This team is capable of winning it all and should press the issue as far as possible.
You make some good points, but statistical probability alone should eventually, given enough time, produce at least one football championship at some level. The fact that this may be our best shot ever does build hopes and expectations. You have to admit, if you have been around Houston for forty or fifty years it has been a long wait, a really long wait. And yes I will admit to some jealousy. Pittsburg has had more than their fair share of success and the Colts have been winning forever, lose Peyton, hit the skids, and bounce right back into contention. That just sucks.
IIRC, Johnson was battling for extra yards and fumbled very close to the point where his forward momentum was halted. I bet it was the sideline ref (partially blocked view) who whistled it dead thinking that he was ruling CJ down due to halted forward progress. Only after the whistle was blown did the ref see that the ball had already come loose. That was my take at the time, I haven't watched any replays.

Why do you think he's been a below average nickel corner? I've thought he's been above average, but looking at PFF's tackling efficiency stat, McCain is near bottom.
