Wouldn't it be something if Sloan goes there? Kind of like sticking it to those idiots in Utah who wouldn't back him up.
Why do I get the feeling that Buss and/or his daughter already talked Phil into coming back and they are just waiting to announce to avoid a PR nightmare? This was a very knee-jerk firing, even though everyone knows he was terrible. Something reeks.
It was fun to see Lakers struggle while it last, too bad they won't have mr. potato holding them back anymore
David Aldridge on TNT just said that scenario is NOT being considered and that the team will hire either Nate McMillan or Mike Dunleavy.
Well, this could be true, this would be the best choice for them but Phil's team was mudered by Mav. in his last year. I do not think he has a magic for this old team either. The drama queen already got two coaches fired within two years, haha.
Assistant coach Bernie Bickerstaff will serve as interim coach while the Lakers search for a long-term replacement. In a news conference, team general manager Mitch Kupchak left open the possibility of the Lakers making a run at bringing back Phil Jackson for a third time as coach. "I think you'd be negligent not to be aware that [Jackson's] out there," Kupchak said. http://sports.yahoo.com/news/nba--lakers-fire-coach-mike-brown--search-for-long-term-replacement-09551809.html
Good move by the Lakers. LA has a standard for excellence. When you don't produce, there are consequences. They don't accept a lack of results or mediocrity. Hopefully McHale is next.
