I was thinking there'd be a DPOY category, but damn MVP. As impactful as say a Lawrence Taylor?

at this point? yes. he's doing everything possible to everyone. stop pass, stop run, move them backwards, make teammates infinitely better singlehandedly.

 

Early MVP Contenders

The above article by Gregg Rosenthal on NFL.com has JJ Watt at #2 and Matt Schaub at #7 in list of his ten MVP candidates.

 

I love that the media outside of Houston is understanding the impact that Watt is having...beautiful to see.

 

even last season schaub was headed for another 4,000 yard season, add an 13-3 record, and he will definitely get some mvp votes.(eli will win it. book it. deserves one )

Watt's odds are a little tougher since only 2 defensive players have won that award in the nfl's history.

 

why eli deserves one??
what did he do last year? in 2010 he got more INTs than TDs.
last year got a 9-7 record, losing to the redskins (twice) and seahawks.

 

But he plays for a big market so he deserves to always be in the discussion no matter how poorly mediocre he plays.

 

It's amazing what a little playoff success can do for a team and for a player.

 

Glad to see watt and shaub getting recognition.

No way shaub has a real chance though, our running game is so good that i dont see him having to get the numbers.
