    Yeah, 713... where are you?

I don't buy this, either.

You seriously can't think that using STEEL on a car's body paint is safe... [insert 'No Future For The Human Race' rant here]

Use a high grain sandpaper with the wd40 to get it really smooth - good luck.

hmmmm. Your opening posts says "I got gum stuck on my dad's car." So, was it your gum or not?

Whatever you do, don't put touch up paint on it! DONT DO IT!

Anyway, as someone stated earlier, you can use a commercial grade compound on your own. Those scratches are very fine and appear to be just in the outer mils of clear.

Run your fingernail over the scratches; if it catches, you are screwed; if not, it can be removed w/o refinish.

Worst case, you can have someone else color-sand it (key words here are "someone else"). A body shop should be able to do it in a few hours for under $100.00. Don't attempt this yourself!

He tried to get gum off with steel wool. He shouldn't try any of this his self.
