What happens to the rookies if we trade them, do they go to Magic summer league team or something??

Brook Lopez is not even in the top 50 among centers when it comes to PER. Dwight, however, happens to be #1.

Being a Top 5 center in the NBA is like being te smartest kid on the short bus.

The talent at the 5 is soooo bad this decade. Roy Hibbert is a top 5 center.

ESPN is full of crap, they are just guess like we are about players involved. There's nothing in that article that says anything trustworthy about the players we are offering and would get in return.

Argument could be made that he's a top 5 center within Atlantic Division teams.

He's already off the market, I believe Indiana snagged him.

And as for the aforementioned offer in OP, did anyone really expect the offer to be considerably less than that? Regardless of leverage, I always felt like if this deal was going to get done, we were going to give a significant amount away. Don't be surprised...really.

Looks about right. I would assume Orlando has the ability to substitute players around, but it was reported a week or so ago that they would get 3 young players of their choice.

-Guess how many picks we expected the Rockets to have in this years draft? Maybe 1, but definitely not 3. Now that we have seen much more of these draftee's we are starting to get emotionally attached to some degree which makes the deal much less palatable right now. Just keep in mind that those three rookies were probably never really intended on making it to the press conference after the draft with a Rockets hat on their head.

My question is now based on the picks involved. Are the future first rounders in play just the Toronto pick, the Dallas pick, and maybe some second rounders? If thats the case thats fine, but I would have a problem(And Im sure Morey would not want to do this) with giving up one or more of Houstons first round picks without strict lottery protection on those picks. That my friends would be mortgaging the future for a huge risk in taking on Dwight.

Sources told ESPN.com that the Rockets, should they go ahead with their widely reported plans to release starting power forward Luis Scola via the NBA's amnesty clause, are prepared to absorb the contracts of Jason Richardson, Glen Davis and Chris Duhon -- in addition to sending Orlando multiple future first-round picks and recent draftees -- to give the Magic an opportunity to wipe their payroll virtually clean for their post-Howard rebuilding effort. ESPN.com .

The Houston Rockets have reconstructed their trade proposal to the Orlando Magic for superstar center Dwight Howard, vowing to take back even more long-term salary from the Magic than before in hopes of convincing Orlando to consent to trade Howard directly to Houston, according to sources briefed on the trade talks. I've said all along that Orlando would get almost everything we have. However, the trade hasn't been made yet. This tells me Orlando wants even more. I think Morey has already made multiple offers to Orlando, and they keep saying give us more. I have no doubt that draft picks will also go to Orlando. Maybe the teams are waiting until August 3rd so D-Mo can be included.

The only reason he's not on that list is because he didn't play last season. If he kept his production the same, he would be in the 7-8 range.
