    he lived a long time.

quite simply, the martian chronicles and fahrenheit 451 are two of my all-time favorite books. considering my views and thought processes have evolved so much since i last read them, i think i'll dust both off the old bookshelf...

rest in peace, mr. bradbury. an american treasure.

I just assumed he had died a while ago. But, man, he definitely made his mark on me when i was growing up. I was 8 or 9 years old when the Martian Chronicles miniseries came out on TV. I remember watching that...even though the whole thing was kind of silly by today's standards. I bet that miniseries never did his published tales justice...but I never did read those. Also, who could forget The Ray Bradbury Theater.

    He will be missed. RIP

Ray Bradbury is the reason why I am such a huge sci-fi/fantasy fan.
Reading the Martian Chronicles and Fahrenheit 451 as a wee lad is what introduced me to a wide genre of books to read in the days before more than 3 channels and also inspired a life-long love of reading period.

I'll never forget the influence he had in my life and I doubt we shall ever see another like him.

RIP Mr Bradbury, you will be missed mightily. :(

RIP Ray Bradbury. It's a shame you never got to the home on a moon base that you deserved.

Great pity. He wrote one of my favourite short stories, the Rocket Man.
