Wanting to stay in Galveston for a weekend

    Guys,

    So we are thinking about doing a little vacation rather than the usual drive to Galveston, stay the day, eat and then drive home.

    So room seems to vary from 150 to 250 for a decent 3 star hotel.

    I know lots of people get beach houses or condos.

    it is just me, my wife, and my three kids, (4Y, 2Y, 7 months).

    You guys have any suggestions of a smaller house or condo to stay at. There seems to be so many on-line but many of them are meant for much larger groups. Also I don't want to stay in a dump/gross place.

    I'd do the name your own price thing via priceline and select the highest star level, you'll get a good deal.

    those places are huge. and most don't do two days during peak season.

    When are you looking to book?

    We have a little condo (3 bedroom, 2 bath) on Pirates Beach, but it's currently occupied by a long-term renter. His lease is up this summer though.

    Right on seawall and 61st, nice pools, affordable. Had a separate queen sized bed, a couch and two bunk beds in the hallway. Also had a nice little living room kitchen area.

    We stayed there after a NYE gig a few years ago. Great place for a very reasonable price. And I think they remodeled after Ike as well.
