What happened to the Super Bowl Halftime show?

What's also hilarious is that I don't think anyone noticed that live, but now that the NFL/NBC released statements about it to draw attention to it, everyone will know about it.

 

I think they're trying to thread the needle a little and mix in a "guest" artist that might bring interest from a different demographic of fans:
Aerosmith with Britney Spears
Black Eyed Peas with Slash (worst performance award, but whatever)

MIA made the scene a year or two back with her Paper Planes song, but she's a long way from relevant. Just taking a cue from Lady Gaga - get popular for attention-whoring acts.

If you're talking about M.I.A you do realize she is a rapper foremost and not a singer right? I've followed her since Diplo started making tracks for her.

Thought it was entertaining from the Roman soldiers, to her looking much younger than she is, a great dance floor, to the tight ropers, and mixing in a some current stuff. Even the Prayer song was decent. But lip syncing has to go. That's just terrible. I agree with Elton John. If you gonna be the show, you gotta bring the real stuff.

Yep. Most of these guys on cf.net wanted to see Jeremy Lin at halftime so don't pay too much attention to their takes.

How do they rate a half time show? People who are watching the Super Bowl will already have the television turned on during the half time.
