Cruel business, but until his heart is declared healthy, then the Rox should not sign him either.

If however he is healthy, then hell yes.

what a disaster. Rockets will probably offer him a one year deal unless they are REALLY scared off by his condition.

I'm going to avoid the heart puns and ask how long's he out for? I can see the Clippers trying to pick him up as well.

just heard this, feel so bad for him..he deserved that contract.

anyways, say if he fails our physical, can we still sign him to a non-guaranteed contract regardless and just see what happens?

the rockets staff must have known about this condition before hand and just never took it serious enough to void a contract (similar to the cuttino mobley situtation)

Don't they give physicals before they offer and sign contracts?

I love Chuck but I don't want to see anything happen to him on the court that has to do with his heart. I hope he concentrates on getting healthy and I know we will always have a spot for him.

I thought that was how it worked but I guess not. Probably like trades, get traded, take physical, fail, deal is null and void.

I hope Chuck recovers, I would love to have him back as a Rocket.

Hire him as an assistant coach until he is medically clear to play. Really feel bad for him.

He'll get healthy and be back on the Rockets soon. I hate to hear that about Chuck. He really deserved that contract, but glad he's got a shot to play for the good guys again.

No, if it's this serious, Chuck should retire.

The last player I can think of who had his contract voided as a free agent signing was Shareef Abdur Rahim. The way it turned out the Nets got it right.

This is more than just a bum knee.

Even if Hill and Thabeet are busts this is the season to give them their chance.

Able to play or not, Rockets should give Hayes a one year deal for our 8 million in capspace.

We don't need it for Dalembert or anywhere else and the man deserves it for being criminally underpaid for the last couple of years.
