    didnt their last coach only get 2 years? i mean yea, its a basketball school, but if you only give coaches 2 years to work with...jeez.

    Nah... Gill was a bad hire. To think -- Barkley demanded Turner Gill coach Auburn. Lulz. Weis to the Jayhawks is just as good as Sherman was to the Aggies. Good move for a program of that caliber to get such a storied coach.

    To be fair Auburn has way better talent. Gene Chizik was really really bad at Iowa St. He did however have 2 undefeated seasons in a row as a defensive coordinator.

    Kansas has low expectations, but Gill managed to not meet them.

    I hope Weis does well, I have a soft spot for KU.

    Charlie Weiss is as good as KU is going to get. He's a very good coach but a terrible recruiter and knows nothing about defense. Hopefully he can find a good defensive coach to help him out.

    Agree with you though he might make it past 3 years. Some guys aren't meant to be a college football coach and Weiss is one of them. UF says good riddance to him.

    He consistently had great recruiting classes at Notre Dame, didn't he? I thought his problem was just that they never figured out how to play defense.

    He'll be fine at a place like Kansas. Just needs time to get some players that fit his system on offense. And can learn it.

    He will be fired in 3yrs. Then go to Boise St when Petersen leaves. Then NFL or retire.
