Ironically, here's a site that never has Orbitz pop ups. Strange, huh?

    hate to admit this...

but i'm doing some web design contracting work from home for a company that wants me to devise a way to get around pop-up stoppers and e-mail filtering so they can get their span into people's inboxes.

    i feel so dirty. :(

I haven't agreed to do it yet. First of all, i'm just a measly lone programmer being asked to do the job that software companies usually do.

While I could use the money, I would feel dirty for the rest of my life for aiding in a cause I am vehemently (sp?) against.

I'm thinking I'll tell them I don't know how to do it when they call tomorrow. Of course, since i'm being paid hourly, I'll tell them I spent all day today and tomorrow "researching" it. ;)

Don't worry, take the money. Free advice from a lawyer.

Okay, looks like you don't need the lawyer's advice. You are already thinking like one... :D

actually, I was having a problem with gotomypc.com i had a persistant pop up that would pop up even when I wasn't surfing. I put that web address in my host file, no more ad!!

have any of you that don't have pop up killers ever edited your host file? I use that and it blocks alot of stuff, windows pop up, but they are blank...

This is a good website for host file info.

You can also do a google search for host files and see what comes up.

If you still get pop ups after editing your host file, just add the url of the latest pop up and it will be blocked.
