    Let me tell you people a story. I first met this guy, let's call him "Herbert," at an obscure academic conference in 2004. After talking a bit about some of the other scientists and programmers, we figured out that we knew one another on-line. Yes, he recognized my magnanimous nature and wit as the on-line Clutchfan B-Bob. And I recognized his use of "unlikely," as a standalone statement in everyday discourse (which was rather odd.) He also said something about Anthrocon 2005, so I was pretty sure I knew who it was.

    Well, this person became very friendly once we established this Clutchfans connection, and that made sense to me. After having another conference-goer take a photo of us* -- even then, he thought my joke phone was pretty cool -- he asked if I wanted to grab some beers at the hotel bar.

    Our first round of beers arrive, and I, being a little older, already had to go the men's room. When I came back, this tool had consumed both beers, left me the tab, taken my conference badge, and replaced my conference proceedings with an AARP magazine. (So hilarious -- where does he come up with these things.) If my external hard drive hadn't been the size of a loaf of bread, I assume he would have stolen that also.

    This, on the right, is absolutely the poster known as King Cheetah, appearing with myself, in happier times.

    Moral of the story: never trust a seemingly friendly person if he's wearing a polo shirt.
