Tech in a blowout against OSU? I beg to differ.

I think Tech is a very good team. In any other conference, they'd be top 25. They've lost 4 games - NCState, Ohio State, Iowa State, and Colorado. All four of those teams have been at times in the Top 10 (and deservingly so). They also will likely lose to top-10 OU and UT. But those are the only games they lose.

Last year, they had a freak Kansas loss, but their other three losses were top-5 teams also (UT, OU, Nebraska). So based on all that, I think they win.

I picked a blowout because their offensive scheme is a blowout machine. If you can stop it (which top 10 teams can do), you'll totally shut them down. If you can't, they score at will. Of course, their defense is a little more sketchy.

I'm terrible with scores but here goes nothing:

    Oklahoma 34, Texas A&M 17
    Miami 30, Tennessee 21
    Ohio State 21, Purdue 20
Kansas State 17, Iowa State 14
Oklahoma State 21, Texas Tech 17
Texas name the score, Baylor 0
    Colorado 42, Missouri 29

LOL!!! I get the feeling this will still be an ok game in the second quarter. I don't expect Texas to run away with it in the same way Tech did. Their offense just isn't as good.

However, it still will be a 30+ win. UT's 3rd string can win this game. Well, Steele can pick ten guys from the crowd to play with the UT 3rd string and they'll still win by ten.

If you were the head coach of a miserable football program that became more miserable while you were in charge for four years, and you got fired last week, would you stay on to finish your season with blowouts by *OU and TX*?

I see a couple of tough wins and people return to giving Texas blowouts against inferior opponents.

    Texas 34, Baylor 13

    Oklahoma 28, A&M 3

    Tennessee 27, Miami 21

Ohio State over Purdue (don't know enough about either to predict a score)

    Oregon over WSU (ditto)

I agree.....I'd give OSU more of a chance of they weren't so average in pass defense.....1 really good offense, a bad defense playing against 1 pretty good offense, and a decent defense....should be a fun game to watch.

BTW, with all this strength of schedule talk, I've heard no one mention Tech! They played #2 Ohio State, #1 OU, #4 Texas, top 10 NC State, a decent Ole Miss team, decent Texas A&M, decent Ok. State, Colorado, and Iowa State.....that's the toughest schedule I've seen this year by far.

I know that it is mainly wishful thinking and that some of you are Longhorn Homers (with a name like "The Horns" that's a dead giveaway, right?), but do y'all honestly think that Miami will play bad for a 4th straight game to lose to a banged-up Tennessee team?

I guess y'all have never heard of playing to the level of your competition.

I have, and frankly, Tennessee is not that good;) I do think it will be a fairly easy win for Miami though.

For the record, I have called Tennessee beating Miami from before the season started. This is not me changing my opinion... I have thought this for months, and I honestly think Tennessee wins this game.

Miami's a very good team, but even though Tennessee has struggled, the talent is outstanding on that team. The one thing that could salvage their season is a win over the number one team in the nation.

Tennessee's got the talent to pull it off, they should have the motivation, and they will have the home crowd. I think they get it done.

    Tennessee 31, Miami 24
    Oklahoma 20, A&M 17
    Purdue 23, Ohio State 17
    Washington State 34, Oregon 27
    Texas 45, Baylor 10
Texas Tech 45, Okla. St. 35

Come tomorrow night, OU and Texas will be the top two teams in the nation...

And you don't think that Miami has the motivation to win this game, Cat.

After all they dropped to #3 in the BCS and to #2 in the AP Poll this week.

And with Clausen banged up and Washington out, unless this Cedrick Houston can run the ball against Miami's defense (which could very well happen), it could be a LONG game for the Vols.

    But we'll see what happens.

    Oh and two other things:

    1) If Miami didn't have enough motivation to win tomorrow, I am sure they will have even more when they find out that they are Tennessee's homecoming opponent.

    2) If I am a Texas fan, I would want the teams ahead of me to lose as late in the season as possible. A lot of crazy things could happen if Miami and OU lost right now. Don't believe me...just ask Nebraska last season. So, I would want Miami to keep winning and then lose on the 7th of December to Virginia Tech.

Nebraska got back in it because the team in Texas' position last year (Florida) lost to Tennessee. If Florida (who was at Texas' spot at this time last year) had won out, there's no doubt they would've been in the national championship. If Miami lost early, the only way they get back in it is if we lose like last year, and in that case it doesn't matter what anyone else does.
