Two random thoughts on things that happened to me today...

I just took my dogs out into the back yard to lounge in the sun, and my dogs started barking at a neighbor dog. Nothing abnormal, until I hear some strange sound coming from a tree above us. I look up, about 10 feet in front of us, and 10 feet up, is a squirrel, standing there all stiff, barking back, tail wagging furiously, in a stare-down mode. Is this a rabid squirrel, or is this thing just species-confused?

I also seem to be haunted by something following me around, messing with electronics lately. I was at work today, and something kept hitting buttons on a machine in a room I hadn't been in for like two minutes. This went on for about a minute straight. I was working by myself, and thought someone was pranking me. I walked into the room as the buttons were being hit, and nobody's there, and the noise quit. This is not the first weird thing that's happened to me like that. Just the first time it's happened anywhere but my house (which, ironically backs up to a cemetery).

Or, to bring these stories full-circle, maybe I'm being plagued by a zombie-squirrel that is a technological whiz.

Regarding your first issue, any person or animal that is 10 feet in the air in a bastion of comfort of luxury and safety will obviously be mad cocky when facing the oppressor.

Regarding your second issue. I am also afraid of ghosts. I used to study at the Rice library and remember after a certain hour (like 2AM) lights used to flicker on and off. I don't like ghosts.

I'm not afraid. I find it intriguing. I don't know if I believe in them or not. I wish one would show itself.

I ran into one of these rabid squirrels once, when I was walking my dog. It was up in the tree going crazy. Not sure what its problem was, maybe it dropped a nut.

This sounds like a math problem. If I am standing with my dog 10 ft away from a tree and I see a rabid squirrel (which may also be haunted) 10 feet up in the tree. How far is the squirrel away from haunting my hopes and dreams?
