I am looking for a reputable, friendly, possibly mom & pop shop that does business cards at a fairly good price and has a quick turnaround time for pickup or delivery. I've looked online and don't want to wait the 3-5 business days, because a friend needs them for this week.

If everyone does the same turnaround time, well then we're just looking for a good price or someone who does a good job with them. I prefer to stay away from the big companies and want to give smaller businesses a chance.

I know I've seen many around the Westheimer near Hillcroft area and the Richmond area near Fondren, but I wanted to know if you guys have used anyone in particular. I did a search and nothing came up (that's what she got sad about ;) ).

It might be for me if the peeps you recommend do a good job for my friend. Thank you in advance.

Thanks for the reply, sir, but... have you used these companies?

I could have researched Craigslist myself...

What I mean to say is, I've researched these shops, but I don't want to do online... and I don't know anyone who's dealt with them to say they do a good job or have quick turnaround time.

I found a small shop on the southeast side that has 1000 for $59 in high glossy standard size. I am trying to see if anyone can top that or deliver faster. So far, no hits.

I think I might go with them if I can't find anyone else before Monday morning, but please continue to recommend others if you do know.

    Swoly-D,

If your friend does not need embossed cards or fancy color-separation, I highly recommend just going to Copy dot com on Westheimer next to where the Tower Theater was, across the street from Slick Willies. They can do it in 1/2 day, or while your wait (if they aren't busy and if you ask for my best friend and mention me). One block from Montrose. Ideally, your friend knows how to use Adobe products to create a professional file of the cards to give them.

If your friend needs embossing or color separation requiring plates, then it IS 3-5 days. No way around it, imo.

Oh, and your friend should bring his/her own card stock too.
