    ...what does it matter if Dallas is ahead of Houston in the Melo hunt? There are like 3 teams ahead of Dallas and last time I checked there is no consolation prize for Melo.

    I don't understand why Melo would be willing to sign a long term extension with Dallas. Their star players are dinosaurs. That is a team whose window is closing rapidly.
