Hi folks! Since I spend so much time in the Rockets and NBA forums, I thought I would put forward a question/idea. We treat certain basketball sources like an ugly dog with rabies, (e.g. hoopsworld or what-have-you), and appropriately so. What would we lose if we treated twitter in a similar way? I guess we *might* lose out on the first 12 minutes for certain news stories, until a real website posted the news, but we would also miss out on: OMG T-WILL POSTED THAT HE MUST BE PATIENT! OMG LERBAUN TWEATED THE DIRAC EQUATION! et cetera and so forth...
i think that some accounts should be allowed (woj, stein, mannix, spears, feigan, jcf etc) since they just report news and possible rumors i think for the most part player accounts probably should be just because a simple tweet about something totally different could be treated as something huge. i dont believe you can remove/ban any/all news though from twitter accounts
I agree with Yoyo about the news sources. I'd add Morey's to that list too. Player tweets are pretty frivolous. Maybe we can put them all in an "Official thread for all player tweets" or something like that, sort of like the random trade ideas thread.
Yeah, I was worried about the reporter tweets and Morey's account makes for a great point too. Ah well. I guess this thread is about as useful as one about a player tweet. Maybe even less so.
Twitter is the fastest/easiest way to get breaking news out. Why try to remove twitter if all these tweets are coming from verified reporters/players/coaches/ any other major positions.
I post Woj and Morey tweets. Woj is money probably always, Morey for obvious reasons. Doubtful I'd ever post a player's tweet, too much can be read into it. Most know what's legit news and what's not, I would think. Agree threads started on speculation with what a player said, just usually isn't news. I don't care what someone had for dinner, or called who an a-hole. Not that clutch and Mods don't have enough going on, but seems like they could just lock it up if need be. Not so sure it's gotten completely out of hand.
Lol, if it wasn't B-Bob posting, I would have assumed it was a typo. Since it was B-Bob, I had to google Dirac Equation.
