Perimeter defense is overrated. Even Michael Jordan could only make 50% of his jump shots. A good defense closes down the paint while limiting fouls. A big, long tall guy who can intimidate does wonders. Team defense >>>> individual defense.

 

Do u guys discover that Martin is putting on muscle?
I think his three-point shot did not work in previous games is because of this, and now he has adjusted to his normal level.

 

I enjoyed the way he competed against Kobe the other night. Kobe still had his shots but I thought that was a good challenge and confidence-booster for Kevin. He saw that he could hold his own once in a while. And he attacked the hoop when his outside shots weren't falling. That's all we ask for from him.

If Martin was an elite defender we would be paying him max $$ the Rockets would not be as deep of a team... pick your poison

 

i'll trade depth for an elite player every day of the week. this is the NBA, after all.
