Currently structured, no, they will not make the playoffs this year. Changes need to be made.

    Can we? Yes!
    Will we? Probably not...

The question is poorly worded. The Rockets can make the playoffs until it is not mathematically possible. Will they make it is the better question. That, I doubt.

Kid definitely has superstar potential with his versatility at that size looks like the next Durant, but even if we did get a chance at him I'd be scared management would trade him for another aging veteran :(

Voted no, we need a high pick in the lottery. Full rebuilding cannot be delayed any longer.

The Rockets are not a playoff team with a Yao that barely plays, and when he does is only at 50% it seems. The team is not playoff caliber.

Exactly. We might trade him for another defensive specialist.

The worst scenario for Rockets is to make the playoffs.

Rockets should not make the playoffs this year .

Most importantly, Rockets must unload the contracts of Lowry, Miller, Scola and Martin.

Morey did a horrible GM work.

We traded for the aging veteran because we had two stars in their prime in T-mac and Yao at the time and we needed a role player who played defense and didn't need the ball on offense. Obviously we wouldn't do the trade right now because T-mac and Yao turned into glass figurines and our championship aspirations were over before we started. If we had the choice between a Battier and a Gay in the upcoming draft, no doubt we would take Gay because we're rebuilding.

The question is can they? Of course, any team can make it. Will they? Barring something short of a miracle, no.
