    I hear tons of tv commercials playing horrible, fruitball songs like this now. Please make it stop. Please make it stop. It sounds like a cat giving birth to a bigger cat. I just want to watch Trading Places in peace. :(

    It's part of a trend started in the late 00s by companies to use music like the above in their commercials to appear more quirky/less corporate.

    The most recent example off the top of my head is RIM/Blackberry.
