I drink beer with the local chief of police every week or so. All he asks is that I smoke the joints out of his sight, plausible deniability I suppose.

In Kaslo, British Columbia? Absolutely. I partied with town council members and the local police chief, who were/are all old school hippies. Move next to one in Austin? Not deliberately. He might have a telescope and night vision binoculars. I enjoy my fun uninhibited by earthly limitations, if at all possible.

 

I imagine they know where the cheap but safe neighborhoods are, so yeah.

you need to give us some background info.
e.g. "would you move next to a cop---if you were a drug dealer/prostitute/running a kiddie p*rn ring/serial killer/cop killer/etc.

otherwise i dont see a problem with it. hell, even if you were a criminal, i could see the benefits of becoming friends with a cop.
