I just ordered a pair of field corners. Get on the ball and order yourself a pair as well right now. Go to Ticketmaster.com, password: NCAA. The parking pass is too expensive for my taste so I'll ride Metro.
I'm not interested in spending that much money on the game unless the world gets shocked and A&M is in the game. At that point I'd get tickets through the university.
Better to get seats (any seats) at face now then wait till November/December when ticket prices will double and triple. Worst case scenario, I cash in on some Sooner fan. I can live with it.
We had no problem buying tickets last year through ticketmaster a couple of days before the game. Any reason why this year would be any different?
Unless you are a big money donor to the alumni organization (12th Man Foundation?), you wouldn't get any tickets from A&M.
I don't know. Better to be safe. Are you sure you didn't buy from the Colorado allotment? I remember they were cancelling sales to Texas fans.
I also remember some Sooner fans on Ebay who refused to sell to Longhorns, lol. I've heard you can get tickets at less than face value from scalpers that day.
That's a false statement. That is where I got my Cotton Bowl tickets a couple of years ago. They are given tickets to sell to their alumni. But if you are right...I have a few friends who give more than I do.
At UT, basically anyone who doesn't donate an X amount to the Longhorn Foundation is shutout from high demand games. People increase their donation yearly to get tickets. UT students are on the lowest step of the ladder just above public no donation/minimum donation. About only 500 tickets will be made available to 7,500 student season ticket holders if UT makes it to the Big 12 title game.
If I bought a ticket, Texas would most certainly not go to the B12 Championship. Since I have not bought a ticket, I am confident of their chances.
I've never had any trouble getting bowl tickets from the A&M ticket office. This could be different. I certainly hope not. The one thing that would put somebody in better stead here is to be an A&M Former Student Season Ticketholder. I'm a former student...but haven't bought the tickets yet...I have to work on that one with Mrs. Ref between now and next fall.
Bought 4 of the cheap-ass $42 seats in the upper deck for scalping purposes. Also, I picked up 2 $72 seats in section 321 for myself. Also, given Nate Hybl is OU's QB, I don' think buying tickets right now is at all presumtuous.
You're right about the 500 to students. Last year I was a 4th yr. senior, and still didn't get Big 12 championship tix through the UT allotment. I used the "Braveheart" method and got 3 tickets for $50 each before kickoff - below the face value of $60.
Dammit... I wish I would've known about this ahead of time. I still got tickets, but section 638, row Q. They say that the upper level seats at Reliant are better than most other stadiums... looks like I will find out for myself. Speaking of last year, I was one of the ones that lost tickets due to the CU ticket office. I did end up getting tickets from an OU fan, but it ended up costing me about 50 dollars more for worse seats...
Check out Ebay already: http://search.ebay.com/search/searc...=1&st=2&SortProperty=MetaEndSort&BasicSearch=
This is sick. Needing a password to buy tickets? Selling tix for $1,100 per set of 4? It's just a freaking football game people. sheesh.
