I Met Craig Sager (and the hilarity that ensued)

    I attended the NBA Draft at MSG as I always do. When the 1st round ends more than half of the audience leaves. I got out of my seat and went to the lobby for a drink and to stretch my legs. Who do I meet in the lobby? Craig Sager in another one of his flaming suits! Craig noticed the hoard of people leaving the theater, and the convo went like this:

    CRAIG: Hey, why are so many people leaving?

    ME: This happens every year. Everyone leaves after the first round.

    Craig: Oh, we're up to the second round already?

    ME: Yeah.

    CRAIG: They're right, who gives a ****?! lol

    Then I snapped this pic of my nephew on the right and my friend on the left.

    haha that was definitely a cool story. sounds like something sager would say. its always interesting to hear about these guys off camera. they seem to be polar opposite without a camera on them.

    Craig Sager must be awesome in real life, then. He has always come across as a complete tool to me when he interviews players. The players seem to have the same sentiment as well.

    Most recently, I remember him interviewing Steve Nash during warm-ups. He kept asking Nash more and more questions until Nash got fed up and said, "What is this??? 20 questions??? I've gotta warm up for the game, cmon!"

    I think it would be interesting to see a poll of NBA players on what they think of the toolness of Sager. I think it would be overwhelmingly not in his favor.

    Cool story, though! :grin:

    I read the title but thought of Craig Kilborn instead of Sager. But then Craig Kilborn and ensuing hilarity is an IMPOSSIBILITY, so I corrected myself right before I read the thread.

    Also, the material is cheap. Leftovers from the color changing t-shirt fad of the 90s.
