    John Manuel of Baseball America just said in his blog that Toronto at 11 would have probably selected Deshields so I guess the Astros were not far off with him.

    If the Astros sign DeShields they will have to go over slot for #8. The difference between slot for #8 and for #19 is only about $500,000.

    I wouldn't have drafted DD JR but he is still a fine selection and the organization needs EVERYTHING so I won't kill them besides DD JR wasn't a huge reach as multiple reports had him going at 11 to Toronto.

    At first I was weary of the Deshields pick but he could be pretty damn good. Hopefully Sale falls in our lap. PLEASE!

    Kind of glad Sale didn't go to the Jays. Heard a rumor that the Jays were bluffing to force the Astros to reach.

    He wasn't making it to 19, so a number of teams where ready to choose him I just noted the Jays because they were the highest.

    MJ4Sports Deshields is a GREAT athlete, even though I don't like taking a 2B this high. I think it will take at least $7 million to sign him
