Are you able to negotiate at the Trader's Village out on 290? My wife wants to go out there today because one of her friends told her she can get something she wants out there. Since I've never been, I'm curious to know how it works exactly, and what kind of place it is.

    Yes Yes Yes.

We went out there to see the powwow for a school project for my daughter. While we were there one of her shoes broke so we needed something for her to wear. I saw a shop selling crocs flip flops so I found some in her size and the lady told me they were $15. I offered her $10 and she took it.

    The crocs were brand new.

    What VooDoo said.

Dude don't go, traffic is a bish every weekend especially when you come off 290 down West then hit Eldridge.

Don't turn at the light pass it and make the u-turn, it'll save you like 15 minutes.

Never heard of the place. Do they offer more then just croc shoes. Or is it more of a flea market?

Is Trader's Village better than craigslist for furniture and appliances?

Yes but the hooker quality is pretty sub-par.

It gets easier to negotiate the later it gets in the day. VHS tapes are ALWAYS two for one. They're pretty firm on the price of corn dogs, though. :(

Seriously, Trader's Village is made for haggling. Generally speaking, if you buy anything at full price there, you have failed. Also, the poster who mentioned that it's easier later in the day is absolutely correct. A lot of the booths set up there are just one time things by people trying to get rid of a bunch of stuff. Most of them would rather not pay for a spot again, and as such will be considerably more desperate to move their stuff as it gets closer to closing.

Personally I like the flea market in Montgomery a bit more.
