Thanks for that. I'm always interested to hear what Kamla has to say. I found it a bit much that the guys were hammering him a bit for saying "he could possibly become a good player again". No one knows, but it just wasn't working out here for either side so a trade was necessary.
no one's saying tmac can't get back to being a good player again, but he will never learn/accept to play within adelman's system
Kamla sounds like a real jerk. He sounds super defensive and offended if you dare disagree with him. I especially liked how he used John Stockton as the case of somebody 30+ who returned from microfracture surgery to become a star again. Stockton didn't depend on his athleticism and his first step like McGrady. McGrady is a whole lot more comparable to guys like Penny Hardaway and Grant Hill.
Very true, I've always liked him on NBA TV but Kamla is way off in his assesment of Tracy. Not surprising since he doesn't follow the Rockets as close as we do. Not sure why he's drinking the McGrady Kool aid. Hey between the all-star voting and Kamla more GM's may drink it too.
Kamla just owned Ken Hoffman. The guy knows about basketball. Is not like Ken Hoffman disagree with him, is that Ken Hoffman make no sense on his argument, he just hate T-Mac as many (DD) and will make all type of assumption just to make it seen like T-Mac career is dead. Kamla have no bias and eat and breathe basketball.
I can't stand Kamla. The guy is the biggest blowhard in basketball. I just want to slap him every time he says "PPG" instead of points per game. It's the same amount of syllables!
and never manage to become a title contender at the same time we can't sign a good enough FA with Tracy's expiring, and this won't change that either that's why we're looking to trade McGrady, and that's why we're throwing out words like "all-star" brad miller and ol jerome james can stay put
Wow, we did this interview last week, and its getting run today... I really like Kamla on NBA TV. He is good. As for TMAC, I have learned if you are with him, you defend him blindly. And if you are against him, nothing he does is right. We in Houston are going through the Orlando situation. As for if he will ever be back too what we know, I highly doubt it. I'd like to see it though. That does not mean it is impossible. That just means at 30 plus your body does not respond the way it use to. Especially when you've played in the NBA since the age of 19. Grant Hill has been a nice player for sure, but never the player he was. So can TMAC help a team, absolutely. Will he, for the man he is, I hope. But he has worn out his welcome with the Rockets. And Adelman is not the kind of coach that has issues with players. Look at his track record. Even Artest wanted to play for him again. Thanks for talking about this interview though, I thought it got lost in holiday land.
