They usually charge you for missing a flight. The agent saved you ~50-70 bucks, plus she managed to get you on the next day in one of the busiest times of the year.

So there is a silver lining to all of this. Usually we hear about how airline companies suck.

Whoops missed that in your post. They likely waived the charge because of the storm and a lot of people are changing flights.

What storm? I've changed flights before with no fee. Do people usually pay a fee for changing flights? But I MISSED my flight. They didn't even say anything about it, just looked for other flights for me.

I'm so glad they weren't jerks to me about it. I've never had a really bad experience dealing with airline people, just crap because of the weather at times.

And what is it with you guys and pics? I want YOUR pics first. And then maybe we'll think about mine.

Spot on. If its something that important and I risk oversleeping, I set a couple different alarm clocks and have the G/F wake up to make sure im awake.

If I had to be awake at 3:30AM, I probably wouldn't even go to sleep. You can sleep the 6 hours on the flight.

I travel a fair amount and generally they charge a fee if due to your action you miss or reschedule your flight. I suppose the booking agent could waive the fee but my understanding is its your job to get to your flight on time and if you miss it you pay a penalty.

If you have never been charged a fee for missing a flight you've either been lucky or are very pursuasive in person. ;)

The storm is a big snow storm in the midwest right now that has forced many airlines to reschedule or cancel flights that are routed through the Midwest.
