I would love to have him on the Rockets, no doubt, BUT the Raptors will want Carl Landry & another one of younger players as a part of any deal for Bosh. Why give them that when we can just wait until the offseason and sign Bosh without giving up anything.

I really think our best trading chip is Shane Battier. He's got a reasonable salary and we would be fine without him. Trade him to a contender and get a younger more atheltic player in his place (ala the Rafer for Lowry deal last year).

However Morey knows all this already, he is a genius!

Lets see, Tmac's $23 million coming off the books, Scola off the books, Brain Cook off the books... Like I said trade Battier and his $6m comes off the books. We'll have the money...

so if morey knows this already, why are you telling us not to do it? Why are you even starting a thread to post your opinion on a subject that's all over the board?

so what, we're trading battier for fresh air? His salary isn't wiped out just because you trade him..and you need to be Bimathugged.

Lowry will get a raise, Scola will get a raise, and right now we are over the cap, so....

The continued development of Landry has led me to change my mind about wanting Bosh on the Rockets. He is better than Carl, but he will want a huge amount of money.

Wouldn't Landry want a huge amount of money too? And the salary difference is almost immaterial from a cap/tax standpoint once Landry gets his big payday next year.

What sells Bosh for me personally is his length and athleticism on the defensive end. I really don't think it's a stretch to think that with Bosh and Yao(and Hayes backing up), we will have the #1 defense in the NBA next year.

When Battier goes, I have a feeling a lot of the grit, toughness and professionalism we love about this team will go with him.

Have you seen any Raptors games this year? Bosh is nearly as bad of a defender as Calderon, Bargs, and Hedo. He's a big reason why their defense is historically bad.
