The funny thing is, Jim McIlvaine showed this same list to the Seattle Supersonics in 1996 and, well, we know what happened with that.

Yeah, but the Rockets aren't foolish enough to give Mbenga a crazy contract for those services.

For a trade like that, you don't use Morey. You use duct tape, tazers, and several very sharp objects of varying lengths, because that's what it would take to get a trade like that pulled off, obviously.

....and that has not been effective. I'd take the charge any day over a block shot.

Agreed. Charge is automatic turnover, while opponent can still get back the blocked shot.

If we needed an energy guy off the bench with lots of athleticism and some occasional offense, why did we waive Pops? I thought he would have been useful in defensive sets and garbage time, which is what Mbenga would be used for. Ah yes, you can't teach height - I get it.

The value of a shot-blocker isn't just the shots he blocks. Its the shots he contests. The "intimidation".

I discounted the value of this in the past, and now I think I was underrating its importance. It is possible to be a good defensive team without an interior presence, but its makes things much more difficult.

He is not THAT bad looking; good grief. Some threads have no mercy. If he is considering coming here, I hope he doesn't find this board. These pictures would really hurt his feelings. How would you feel if people thought you were hideously disfigured?
